Reduced Truck Trips + Recycling Contamination
The RTS installed balers at several campus buildings to consolidate and compact the cardboard generated on-site. The process mitigated contamination to recyclable material by keeping the material stream completely separated from wet waste.
Reporting + Transparency
Monthly diversion reporting was provided, including real data and insight into the total tonnage of trash, recycling and organics generated on the entire campus.
Technology Support
Real-time, geo-tracking of recycling trucks ensured material was picked up and brought to the proper facility.
Suffolk’s partnership with RTS has allowed us to further our Sustainability Committee’s mission to educate, enable, and empower our community to live a more sustainable lifestyle. By working together, RTS has enhanced signage, Earth Day fairs, and staff trainings to include information about the waste life cycle that our community is actively engage in. We look forward to working more in the future to expand on our programs and signage.
